Transgenders In Bihar Will Be Part OF Police Force
In a bid to become a more inclusive society and equitable society, the Bihar Police will recruit people from the transgender community into the force.
According to a report by The Indian Express, a resolution was passed by the state home department on Thursday, January 14 which stated that the members of the transgender community could be appointed up to the level of Assistant Sub-Inspector.
The recruitment will be based on the population of the community. As per the 2011 Census, there are 40,287 transgenders among 10.41 crore people of the state.
