With highest votes, India elected to UN's Human Rights Council

With the highest votes among all candidates, India wins the seat on UN Human Right Council for a period of three years which is scheduled to start from January 1, 2019. India gets 188 votes in the Asia-Pacific category in which other 5 nations including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Fiji and Philippines were also competing. All 18 new members were elected by the absolute majority through a secret ballot.
