Swami Gyanswarup Sanand, 87, an environmentalist died on Thursday. He was fasting from 111 days demanding a clean holy river, Ganga. It was on Wednesday when he was forcefully shifted to AIIMS hospital from his Matri Sadan ashram when his health was continuously worsening. As per the reports he died at 1 pm. He was demanding enactment of the Ganga Protection and Management Act and end of the hydropower project on Ganga.
