Urjit Patel steps down as RBI governor

The 24th Governor of Reserve Bank of India, Urjit Patel has just stepped down from his post. This has come after his disputes with the Central Government. It is being expected that his resignation is due to his non-agreement with the Modi government over a few issues due to which he was being pressurized by them. He is an Indian economist. Previously he was serving as an RBI deputy governor.
