Unemployment in India increased by 6.9%: CMIE

Data from Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy has revealed that the unemployment rate rose to a two-year high of 6.9% in the month of October this year. Even more shocking is that the labour participation rate fell to 42.4% in October, which is the lowest since January 2016. It depends on the adults willing to work. The CMIE stated that the fall in the rate of labour participation came after the demonetization.
