If Donal Trump would have accepted the invitation he would have been the second US president to come for Republic Day. But due to scheduling pressures, he will not be able to attend the event in India, the White House confirmed. The bond between the two has strengthened after the 2 meetings and several phone calls. Earlier, when Barack Obama was president he attended the Republic Day event in India in 2015.
