According to the widespread ecological crisis, around 3 million birds have been lost since 1970. A decline of 29% in bird in has been recorded in diverse groups and habitats from songbirds such as meadowlarks to long-distance migratory birds such as swallows and backyard birds like sparrows. Grassland birds are the most affected ones recording a 53% reduction in population. This is a wake-up call for the environmentalists.
