Sri Lankan parliamentary dissolves, snap elections on 5th January

Amid political crisis, Sri Lankan parliament has been dissolved on Friday midnight, when it became clear that PM nominee didn't have a majority. President Maithripala Sirisena announced that the snap election will be held in the nation on 5th January nearly 2-years ahead of schedule. The new parliament will be assembled on Jan 17. This turmoil began when prez sacked PM Ranil Wickremesinghe without having power to do so.
