Social media platforms to now share messages with UK police

Social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp will be forced to share user's encrypted messages with the British police under a new treaty between the US and UK. The accord which is set to be signed by next month will compel social media firms to share information to support investigations into individuals suspected of serious criminal offences including terrorism and paedophilia. Details are still being looked into.
