Should have been open about data breaching, says Uber after facing penalty

Cab service provider Uber is now giving $148 mn to settle down the legal actions against the leaking of data of 57 mn customers and drivers. The breaching happened in 2016 and the firm was trying to hide it from the regulators but is now caught. It gave $1 lakh to the hackers for deleting the data they got from Uber’s cloud servers. The firm apologized for not being more open about the issue and will not give excuses.
