Sajjan Kumar resigns from party after being convicted in 1984 Riots

Congress leader, Sajjan Kumar has resigned from the party after he was convicted in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. On Tuesday he submitted his resignation to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi with immediate effect from the primary membership of the party due to the judgement given by the Delhi High Court against him. He is sentenced with life imprisonment after he was found guilty for killing 5 people during riots.
