PV Sindhu stormed into the pre-quarterfinals with an impressive win over former Olympic gold-medalist Li Xuerui, but Saina Nehwal crashed out early at the China Open. India’s top shuttler Sindhu defeated Li Xuerui 21-18 21-12 in just 34 minutes of action. Meanwhile, Saina had an early exit after losing to Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan 10-21 17-21 in the women’s singles. B Sai Praneeth also entered the next round.
