On Friday, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that "Pakistan is inappropriately crying out for the choice by Indians to use our own share of water. It is India's right; the Indus Water Treaty allows us to do so. The steps being taken by the government do not break any treaty," he said. India has full privileges over the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej according to the Indus Water Treaty.
