On a petition, SC orders Mayawati to return public money used for her statues

The Supreme Court was listening to a petition filed by an advocate who said that the public money cannot be used by the political parties for building their own statues and for developing their party. After hearing the petition on Friday the top court ordered the BSP chief Mayawati to deposit public money she used for making statues of herself and the party's symbol, at parks in Lucknow and Noida to the state exchequer.
