NASA satellite Aqua has captured images of the Amazon on fire. The new data collected shows an animation from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) instrument measuring the levels of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere. As the Amazon forest continues to burn in the widespread fire, the images show an increased concentration of carbon monoxide indicated by green, yellow, and dark red colours parts per billion by volume.
