Lionel Messi has been suspended for one game and fined $1,500 after being sent off against Chile in the Copa America third-place playoff for accusing South American soccer chiefs as corrupts. Messi was shown red card after clashing with Gary Medel and afterward claimed that the tournament had been fixed to favour the hosts Brazil, who had beaten Argentina in a controversial semifinal on their way to win the title.
