A religious organization of Sunni Muslim scholars and clerics of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama moved the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the triple talaq, stating that its objective is to 'punish husbands.' An instant triple talaq is now a penal offence where the husband serves a three-year sentence, and the offence is cognizable and non-bailable. They challenge the hasty decision taken.
