Justice Gogoi sworn in as 46th Cheif Justice of India

A day after Dipak Misra retires as CJI after 21 years as a permanent judge, Justice Ranjan Gogoi sworn in as the 46th Cheif Justice of India. He administered the oath by President Ram Nath Kovind. He is the first CJI from the north-east, was legally the logical choice by CJI Misra. Justice Misra's 13-month tenure came to a close on October while Justice Gogoi's tenure will end November next year.
