Indian Govt gives a final nod to In flight WiFi services, Hughes receives the 1st FMC Licence

In-flight internet services in domestic airlines have been approved by the Indian govt. Hughes Communications India Ltd (HCIL) gets the FMC license from the govt that authorises it to provide high-quality broadband services in ships & aircraft within Indian territory. HCIL is the 1st company to receive the Flight & Maritime Connectivity (FMC) licence in India, valid for 10 years. They have already set up a base mobility platform.
