Acting on Election Commission's request, social media platforms such as Twitter, Whatsapp, FB removed over 500 posts, advertisements, accounts and other objectionable content found with regards to the MCC Violations. An EC Officer said 468 posts were reported to FB & removed in past 48 hours alone whereas Twitter removed 2 accounts while 39 tweets are reported but action on accounts is yet to be taken.
