There is a software bug that may be sending some private messages to the wrong people, Twitter has found. The problem which started in May 2017, the company found and resolved on September 10, mainly involved direct messages and protected tweets sent to businesses and other accounts overseen by software developers. The company said that even less than 1% of its 335 million users were affected by the issue.
