Today Google celebrated the 44th anniversary of Arecibo message. The 1st interstellar radio message was sent on 16 November 1974 by humans. It was a 3-min long message having 1,679 binary digits. It was sent with an expectation, extraterrestrial intelligence will receive and solve it. The message was aimed at a bunch of stars, M-13, 25,000 light years away from earth. Arecibo Observatory wanted to explore its capabilities.
