Goa finally gets official English translation of Portuguese Civil Code

Goans have always seen it as injustice as they had no English translation of Portuguese Civil Code, which led to mistranslation of Portuguese terms by lawyers and judges. Finally, after 57 years of liberation, Goa is getting official English version of Portuguese Civil Code 1867 and was published on Official Gazette last week. The order came by High Court of Bombay at Goa in PIL No. 1 of 2017 related to its translation.
