France unveiled a new proposal of imposing a 3% tax on Google, Apple, Facebook, & other tech giants, forging ahead with more stringent regulations on big tech without broad-based support from the EU. French Finance Minister estimated that the tax revenues will raise up to 500 million euros. The proposal is an effort to modernize the international tax system. The French parliament will soon pass this proposal later this year.
