Researchers from Kunming Institute of Zoology at the CAS & the University of North Carolina in the US created a 'Transgenic' monkeys by modifying the genes of 11 monkeys with the addition of copies of the human gene MCPH1. Monkeys had better memory, faster reactions. Microcephalin (MCPH1) is an imp factor in brain development; mutations in this gene lead to microcephaly. Researchers used brain imaging to monitor transgenic monkeys.
