Cabinet clears ordinance, grants 10% quota for poor & 3% to those living near border in J&K

After a meeting of the Union Cabinet with PM Modi, finance minister Arun Jaitley announced the approval of an ordinance to extend 10% quota in jobs and educational institutions to the poor in J&K. It also entitled a 3% quota to those people living near the international border, under the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act 2004. The government also grants reservation benefits and promotion in service to the SC, ST& OBC in J&K.
