AIIMS witnessed its biggest ever fire breakout as, after five long hours, the firefighting teams managed to bring the blaze under control. It is learnt that a short circuit occurred near the emergency ward in AIIMS hospital. At the time, former finance minister Arun Jaitely was also admitted in the ICU of the cardio-neuro center, housed in a different complex. Authorities stated that where 39 fire tenders were pressed into service.
