Just a few minutes ago the news of George Fernandes' death broke. The former Defense Minister and anti-Emergency crusader died at the age of 88 on Tuesday. He was suffering from some serious health issues. He was the Defense Minister under the govt headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee between 1998 and 2004. Fernandes was the founder of the Samata Party and became popular as civil rights activists.
