AAR asks drivers to pay 18% GST for PUC certificates

The Goa bench of AAR has passed the ruling and asked the vehicle owners to pay 18% GST to get pollution certificate for their vehicles. It is a reply to an application filed by Venkatesh Automobiles on whether the service provided for issuing 'Pollution Under Control' certificate on behalf of the state government is excluded from GST. Every vehicle on road needs PUC certificate indicating that emissions are harmless.
