Effect of demonetization on labor force was harsh: CMIE Survey

Though demonetization has caused a loss in jobs of at least 3.5 mn, the damaging impact on labor force was even more, on Friday the Chief Executive of CMIE, Mahesh Vyas said on the basis of the survey. The PMEAC member Surjit Bhalla said that this is terrible to know that the share of women in the labor market is just 10%. As compared to 1 month before demonetization there was a loss of 12.7 mn jobs 1 month after it.
