Content TeamOn Friday night, the police arrested nearly 150 people mainly from the Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir including its chief Abdul Hamid Fayaz. This has come ahead of the hearing on Article 35A of the Constitution by the Supreme Court. Calling it the first major crackdown on the Jamaat-e-Islamia, the officials said that detentions were routine and that leaders and potential stone pelters have been arrested in the past.
