The US State Department has issued a travel advisory, warning its citizens against travelling to Japan or Sri Lanka amid a surge in Covid-19 cases. "Because of the current situation in Japan even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants and should avoid all travel to Japan," the State Department said in its advisory. Japan is set to hold Olympics in July.
