UNESCO recognizes Rio as World Capital of Architecture

The World Capital of Architecture is an initiative which was started by UNESCO and UIA in November 2018. And for 2020 UNESCO has recognized Rio de Janeiro as the World Capital of Architecture. It has defeated Paris and Melbourne to conduct the 27th edition of the World Congress of the International Union of Architects in July 2020. Rio is having a combination of both modern and colonial architecture.
