To tackle rising knife crime in the UK, a new Offensive Weapons Bill has been passed to become a law after receiving the Royal Assent of Queen Elizabeth II this week. The bill was amended to ensure that it would not impact the right of the British Sikh Community to possess & supply Kirpans or religious swords. The new law will maintain the status quo in continuing to legally safeguard the sale, possession & use of large kirpans.
