UK's ICO to impose £183 Million penalty on British Airways over consumer data theft

The British Airways owner IAG said that the UK Information Commissioner's Office intends to impose a hefty penalty of 183.4 Million pounds for the theft of consumer data from the airline's website last year. It was revealed that the credit card details of hundreds of thousands of its customers were stolen in an attack on its website and app. The British Airways had responded with an apology but stated that no links were found to the theft.
