Rs 13.46 crore spent on inaugurations via video link by Railways in 3 years

Between November 2014 and September 2017 around 166 events including new trains, escalators, foot over-bridges, waiting halls, VIP lounges and toilets built at different stations, were inaugurated through a video link on which Rs 13.46 crore were spent by The Ministry of Railways, according to a reply to an RTI query filed by city-based RTI activist Manoranjan Roy. Such expenses are wastage of taxpayers money, said official.
