Railways to create database of contract workers to give benefits

For the first time, Railways will have a database of their contract workers in areas like training, consultancy, housekeeping and other such services to keep an eye on them so that no violation of labour law can take place. The database will have details of the worker, their police verification reports, provident fund and medical insurance reports and they will be provided with biometric identity cards.
