How is it possible that people didn't notice the disappearance of an island? But that's true! People in Japan's Sarufutsu didn't observe the Esanbe Hanakita Kojima island vanishing. It is an uninhabited island that was named by the Japan Govt. in 2014. It is being expected that the island has been eroded by wind and drift ice. People were informed after an author came there to write a book on Japan’s “hidden” islands.
