'Meri Saheli' initiative launched by Indian Railways for better security of women in trains

In a bid to provide better security to women in trains, the Indian Railways has launched an initiative called “Meri Saheli”. The initiative is aimed at providing security to women passengers across all zones. Under the initiative, women passengers, specially those travelling alone, will be contacted by young lady RPF personnel at the originating station. The RPF personnel will brief them about all the necessary precautions.
