Kerala government reduces fines under the Motor Vehicles Act

The Communist Party of India-led Kerala government reduced fines for traffic rules violations, that were imposed by the Central Government under the new Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, on Wednesday. Under the modified rules, fines for driving without helmet have been reduced to Rs. 500 from Rs. 1000, fine for talking on the phone while driving has been reduced from Rs. 10, 000 to just Rs. 2,000.
