Indian Railways puts an end to 36-year-old protocol

In a bid to end the VIP culture in India's national transporter, Railway Ministry has taken an important move and asked its senior staff to slug it out - at home and at work. Under this VIP protocol, it was mandatory for railway staff to entertain railway officials on their on arrival and departure. The instructions of a 1981 circular mandated such protocol.
