Indian immigrants set new record, account for one-fourth of total permanent residencies granted by Canada in 2019

Canada's 2020 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration has stated that the Indian immigrants were the top permanent residents in 2019 in the country. In 2019, the Justin Trudeau-led government welcomed over 3,41,000 permanent residents, including 30,000 resettled refugees and over 4,02,000 study permits and 4,04,000 temporary work permits were also issued.
