First phase operation of private trains to begin in 2023-24 fiscal

Indian Railways is planning to start the operations of private trains on its network in phases. The first phase will start with the introduction of nearly a dozen trains in the 2023-24 financial year. A total of 151 private trains are planned to be introduced by 2027. The selection of companies for the operation of trains will be done by April 2021. The first train is expected to hit the tracks from March 2023.
