First budget airline in the US to offer in flight wifi connection

Spirit becomes the first budget airline company to offer in-flight internet connection. They hope to have their entire fleet of aircraft wifi enabled by 2019. They would be relying on Ka-band satellite connections to do so. Spirit plans to maintain its competitive pricing, with the average price $6.50 per flight per flyer. This would give them a competitive advantage over other budget airlines.
