New data confirms that Europe had its hottest year on record last year. As per the European state of the climate 2019 report, previous records were broken by a small frame but the findings confirmed that 11 out of 12 warmest years in Europe have occurred in the past 2 decades. Europe had faced a drought over the summer but at the end of 2019 4 times, the normal rains fell in Western and Southern Europe.
