Delay in ticket bookings as IRCTC website goes down after railways adds special trains

After the Ministry of Railways announced on Sunday that passenger train services will be gradually resumed in India starting May 12, the IRCTC website went down making it impossible for travellers to book tickets amid the the rush. It has already been announced that the reservation on these trains will be online only. Ticket booking counters at the railway stations shall remain closed and no counter tickets shall be issued.
