Centre signs agreement with Tata Sons for sale of Air India

The central government on Monday signed a share purchase agreement with Tata Sons for the sale of Air India for Rs. 18,000 crores. The information was shared by Department of Investment and Public Asset Management Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey. Besides Air India, Tata Sons will also get control of Air India Express and ground handling arm AISATS under the deal. Air India is the third air carrier in which Tata has a stake.
