Blind Japanese Sailor Completes non-stop Pacific Voyage, creates a new record

A blind Japanese sailor Mitsuhiro Iwamoto,52, completed a non-stop Pacific crossing, sailed through the 8700 miles with the help of a sighted navigator. He left California along with Doug Smith, an American Navigator who assisted him & reached Fukushima port on Sat morning ending his 2-month long trip. This makes him the 1st visually impaired to do so. his 1st attempt in 2013 failed after his boat struck a whale & sank.
