As notified by ICAO, the new record has been set by all the Scheduled air services carrying 4.1 billion passengers in 2017. On comparing to the previous year, overall it has witnessed an increase of 7.1%. The various factors responsible for this increase include safety, security, efficiency and environmental footprint. Also, airline's budget sector and its market shares continue to increase at a rapid pace.
