Air India fined Rs 47k for serving non-veg food to vegetarian couple

A Mohali-based vegetarian couple was served non-veg food by Air India. The airline has been asked to pay Rs 40,000 as compensation along with Rs 7,000 for the legal expenses to the consumer. According to the complaint, Mohali-resident Chandra Mohan Pathak booked 2 return tickets from Delhi to Chicago and Chicago to Delhi in 2016 where they were served non-veg food even after opting for the vegetarian option.
